Creating Company Logo ACP Version

Below are the steps used to create your logo from last year. You need to make sure you have the following done:

  • Have a folder called Logo and save all work of your logo design to it.
  • Save a B&W logo with transparent background PSD file.
  • Save a Color version logo with transparent background PSD file.
  • Save JPEG versions of both.
  • Save PNG versions of both.
  • Want to be a trailblazer? Save EPS versions.

 

 


 

1. Open Photoshop. Once open choose File > New (Ctrl+N) input the following:

  • Width – 7 Inches
  • Height – 5 Inches
  • Resolution – 300
  • Background Contents – Transparent

2. Choose File > Save as

3. Save this file to your Photoshop folder as PSD file with the name Company Logo

4. Using the Photoshop Tools, Palettes, etc. create your photography logo.

5. When designing the logo use ONLY Black as your color. So when your done it should be Black on White logo design.

6. Once finished designing use the Crop tool (C) to crop out any extra white space around your logo design.

7. After cropping choose File > Save.

 

Setting up Logo Groups

Find the Layers Panel.

Select the very top layer of the Layers Panel.

At the bottom of the Layers Panel is the Group button (looks like a folder). Press is once.

Name the folder Black Logo

Then using the shift key select all the layers EXCEPT the Group folder you just created.

Once all layers are selected drag them into the Black Logo group folder.

Now that all the layers are inside the folder click the arrow to the left of the folder that is pointing down.

HINT: There should be just one item showing in your Layer Panel now.

Now duplicate (make a copy) of the B&W Logo folder. Rename it Color Logo.

Again duplicate (make a copy) of the B&W Logo folder. Rename it White Logo.

 

 

Adding Color

Inside the Layers Panel. Turn off the eye next to Black Logo & White Logo group.

Turn the eye on and open (click the arrow) of the Color Logo group.

At this time you should see your logo just as you designed.

Next using either Layer Style (double click the blue are in your layer to choose Color Overlay) or color selector, swatches, Foreground/Background color.

Add color to your logo.

Once finished adding color choose File > Save.

 

White Logo

Inside the Layers Panel. Turn off the eye next to Black Logo & Color Logo group.

Turn the eye on and open (click the arrow) of the White Logo group.

At this time you should see your logo just as you designed.

Next using either Layer Style  (double click the blue are in your layer to choose Color Overlay) add white color overlay to each layer.

Reminder: The color white RGB numbers are all 255. The hex number is fff

Once finished adding color choose File > Save.

Printing

Printing your Black Logo design.

1.  Turn on only your Black Logo.

2. Choose File > Print

3. Change the following settings:

  • Printer – HP 4350
  • Direction – Landscape
  • Under the Function area click Border and input 1 mm.

4. Print.

Once finished make your WordPress header area. And then create a post called “Company Logo” and insert your logo.
